Kaya Yanar live! Made in Germany

He is a restless wanderer between cultures and takes from this his grandiose ideas for the stage: Kaya Yanar, comedian and presenter of German-Turkish origin. With his comedy show “Was guckst Du?!” [What are you looking at?] (awarded both the German Television Prize and the German Comedy Prize in 2001) and his stage programme "Suchst Du?!" ["You looking?!”] and "Welttournee - durch Deutschland" [World tour –Germany”], within a very short time, Kaya Yanar reached the top of the German comedy scene. And with his third solo programme, he also filled halls throughout Germany: Kaya Yanar is "Made in Germany".

Born in Germany, he has enjoyed German school, studies and women. So you can say: successfully integrated! In “Made in Germany” Kaya Yanar attends primarily to his German audience: "What is typical German? Who are the Germans? Where do they come from? And where are they going?" In search of answers, Kaya Yanar conducts a razor-sharp analysis of the history and present day of the world champions of the heart. In his own way, Kaya Yanar throws light on the effect of language, plays brilliantly with prevailing clichés and, using many gestures, portrays several cultures and mentalities. Of course, we also meet the well-known characters Hakan, Ranjid and Francesco again.

“Kaya Yanar live! – Made in Germany” was shown by RTL on 15 and 22 March 2008, at 10.15 pm. The solo programme lasting approximately two hours was recorded in September 2007 in the Jahr¬hundert¬halle Frankfurt.
