She is, in fact, called Ilka Bessin and was born in Luckenwalde. Cindy from Marzahn is her character, as successful as she is flashy, with whom she has been stirring up the comedy scene for almost three years. Skin-tight sweatshirts, tight leggings and shapely boots – everything of course in Cindy’s favourite colour, pink! The fabulous outfit does little to flatter the full shape of the wearer, but ensures uproar among the audience when they see her. And then when the woman with the bleached curly wig starts talking about her Alzheimer-bulimia illness (eating all day and forgetting to be sick in the evening), even the greatest pessimist is doubled over laughing.
On 19 and 26 September 2008, at 10.30 pm, RTL showed “Cindy aus Marzahn Live! Schizophren – Ich wollte ’ne Prinzessin sein [“Cindy from Marzahn Live! Schizophrenic - I wanted to be a princess”] The two-part live recording was recorded at the beginning of June 2008 in the Chemnitzer Stadthalle.
