His appearance is pretty disastrous. He wears a sleeveless knit argyle sweater and pants which are far too large for him. His hairstyle isn’t even worth mentioning. According to a survey from one of Germany's largest news magazines, he is not one of Germany's most erotic men – but he can live with 11th place. Anyone with this perspective can’t have many problems. His name: Olaf Schubert.
He is the biggest rising star in the comedy world today. Olaf Schubert is simply different from the rest. This man celebrates the strange and bizarre in life. Olaf Schubert listens to his audience's problems and gives them his hand.

Olaf Schubert describes himself as follows: “I am the bucket that carries itself to the well.” Despite the resignation that resonates in this self-awareness, he uses this as a source of power – and this is validated by the recognition he currently enjoys. Schubert’s live performances have been very successful. The comedian recently received the RTL Comedy Award (RTL Comedypreis) for "Best Newcomer".

Now everyone can see his talent and ingenuity for themselves. RTL is broadcasting his latest show “Olaf Schubert Live! I Am with You” (“Ich bin bei Euch”) on April 3, 2009 at 10:30 p.m. In his stage show, Olaf Schubert tries to understand the world. His only problem – the world is a bad place! “For all I care, it can stay round…” he says. Otherwise, there is plenty to be done. The world is a bad place indeed – but experiencing how Olaf sees it is an absolute highlight. The comedian denounces the deplorable circumstances around the world. He also sings songs about everything from cuts in social services to eroticism to make most hardened cynics soften up. He is usually accompanied by musicians Herr Stephan on bass and Jochen Barkas on guitar. Olaf Schubert sings the songs himself. Warning: It is highly likely that Olaf Schubert will dance as well – he knows no boundaries.

The live show will be recorded on March 25-26, 2009 at the “Alte Oper Erfurt”.
