Most of the day this young man with long dark hair is rather modest and nice. However, when you see him on stage, he seems so wild that you could get the impression he has multiple schizophrenia. The comedian and cabaret artist from Mannheim, Bülent Ceylan (33) has long developed from an insiders' tip to "laughing stock" in great demand and is regarded as the wonder boy in this industry. For the first time, the German-Turk that speaks with a Kurpfalz dialect is now presenting a "best of" of his material on RTL television.

Bülent Ceylan is a man with various faces and voices. At one moment the innocent and somehow slightly gaga Mannheim suburbanite Harald, whose mental horizon is like a bowl of potato salad, just a moment later he's playing the Turkish greengrocer Aslan. Who, in line with tradition, lets his wife and daughters work for him and whose confusingly zeitgeist analyses hit the nail on the head. Ceylan's other characters are also direct and have been cult for quite some time now. Whether playing a head banger, janitor Mompfred Bockenauer or the Turkish macho Hasan whose main main job is too look after the security of his father's business contacts' shops, Bülent Ceylan doesn't do anything by halves. Fits of laughter are guaranteed and one or other person is bound to still be smiling for days after the performance.

Bülent Ceylan has already brought home a number of comedy prizes: in 2001 he won the "Bielefelder Kabarettpreis 2001" (Bielefeld Cabaret Prize 2001), in 2002 the "Kleinkunstpreis des Landes Baden-Württemberg 2002" (Cabaret Prize of Baden Württemberg 2002) and "Kulturpreis 2002 des BDS-Mannheim-Nord" (BDS Mannheim North Culture Prize) and is the winner of the Westpitzen (NRW) for Comedy. He is currently touring Germany with his show "Kebabbel net".
