Anke - die comedyserie
"ANKE – The Comedy Series" plays behind the scenes of a daily talk show.
Although successful and popular in front of the camera, host Anke (Anke Engelke), experiences total chaos in her private life. Her love life is a complete catastrophe and there is no man in her life – and this despite being in her early thirties!
Chaos is also the name of the game in Anke’s editorial office: Head Editor Schroeder (Frank Leo Schröder) prefers being loud to objective arguments. He would do virtually anything to achieve good viewer ratings. His choleric style of management has provided him with the nickname "Saddam". Lisa (Roswitha Schreiner) is a full-time editor, part-time wife and mother, and it is this triple load that generally ensures that she fails at all three. Her first victim: her stomach. As a secretary, Nikki (Sandra Leonard) has everything under control. She is peppy, self-confident and sexy: simply batting her eyelashes suffices to have the men lining up to help her. However, Anke’s line-up comprises only one person, namely her ex-lover, Tom (Ingo Naujoks), who works in the editorial office and is constantly – but in a loving way – getting on Anke’s nerves. "Anke – The Comedy Series" portrays in a humorous manner the daily talk show madness from the perspective of the makers. Anke Engelke excels in the role of the charming and witty host, who – although successfully talking about, and dealing with, other people’s problems – is unable to cope with her own.
Following the first series (13 episodes) in 2000, eleven new episodes were launched on May 2001 on Mondays at 9:15 p.m. on Sat.1. Guest appearances include Stefan Raab, Kai Pflaume and Thommi Ohrner.
"Anke – The Comedy Series" was shot on 16-mm film and produced in Hürth near Cologne.
Producer and scriptwriter is the former "Harald Schmidt Show" head writer Ralf Husmann, the series was directed by Sven Unterwaldt Jr. ("Switch", "Antrag vom Ex"). The set was designed by Albrecht Konrad ("Late Show", "Rossini", "Aimee und Jaguar").
