Der kleine Mann
The electronics salesman Rüdiger Bunz (Bjarne I. Mädel) only knows famous people from seeing them on TV. He is the "average Joe" incarnate, the simple guy next door. Unassuming and content with his life. His likes to cook goulash for his wife, Silvia (Christina Große), and he naturally repairs vacuums free of charge for elderly ladies.
But this serenity seems to practically disappear over night after he is discovered on the street by chance for a commercial.
Lydia (Karoline Eichhorn), who works at an advertisement agency, proceeds to make Rüdiger an advertising icon for a brand of schnapps called "Der kleine Mann" [The little man], and Rüdiger is incredibly famous in no time. The sudden fame sends Bunz's peaceful life into a tailspin:
His boss, Mr. Gumprecht (Karl Kranzkowski), eventually overcomes his initial doubts and sees Rüdiger's fame as an opportunity for his electronics shop. Rüdiger's scheming coworker Jürgen (Florian Lukas) quickly connives his way into becoming a manager. And Silvia Bunz (Christina Große) suddenly stops thinking of her husband as being such a wet blanket and starts wanting a nice new compact car. And in the midst of all this is Rüdiger, the schnapps icon; he would rather have the peace and quite of his old life back...
The first season (eight episodes) of the sitcom "Der kleine Mann" [The little man] can be seen every Tuesday at 10:40 pm on ProSieben from 24 March 2009 to 05 May 2009.
