The Doc

"The Doc" is a racy comedy series about the vanity industry. It deals with the booming cosmetic surgery business and with totally normal people who are just trying to get their lives back on track. Because who has not asked themselves the question: "Am I beautiful?". One thing is certain: "Beauty can be created!". And, according to his own opinion, Dr. Konrad Arnold – alias "The Doc" – is the very best the industry has to offer. Whether penis reduction or breast enlargement, nothing poses a problem for "The Doc" – the main thing is that it is profitable. Because the clinic is financed by the father of his girlfriend, Karin, who – after being with "The Doc" for five years now – would like to get married in the near future. He tries to avoid relationship commitments at all times, preferring to distract her with self-created pet names and red roses.

All in all, the medical profession does not seem to have a particularly beneficial effect on personal relationships: Richard, the anesthetist at the clinic, is constantly looking for the woman of his dreams. His small stature and a battered self-esteem are not exactly favorable to his cause. He could imagine himself "dating" Mona, the most competent doctor in the team, but – following a disastrous marriage – Mona has very little time for men. Then there is Margret at the reception. She is on the wrong side of fifty and is slowly succumbing to the perils of old age, a process that she simply chooses to ignore. Because glasses make you look ugly, computers are useless and you simply can’t be expected to remember everything.

"The Doc – Beauty can be created" was broadcast from February until March, 2000 with nine episodes on SAT.1.
