Fröhliche Weihnachten! (Merry Christmas!) with Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka

Christmas time is comedy time! Which is why Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka – alias Wolfgang & Anneliese – are presenting a wacky parody of all Christmas shows on German television in their “Fröhliche Weihnachten!” show. “Fröhliche Weihnachten!” is a veritable feast of comedy, a bright bouquet of hilarious clips and a spectacular display of transformation by two of Germany’s best and most popular comedians. Because Bastian Pastewka and Anke Engelke not only slip into the bodies of presenter double act and married couple Wolfgang and Anneliese, they also appear in the most varied roles: from major stars of the stage, the average man on the street, reporters, the baby Jesus, ice dancers and even the fans of their own show – Engelke and Pastewka perform all the roles!

Christmas time, a time for reflection? Yeah, right! In "Fröhliche Weihnachten - Die große Weihnachtsshow mit Anke Engelke und Bastian Pastewka" (Merry Christmas - The big Christmas show with Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka), Wolfgang and Anneliese welcome guests including the Brömseklöten family and Annika Klön-Schnack, report on their "Aua-am-Finger" (Ouch! My Finger!) charity campaign and also look at the truly important subjects surrounding Christmas. 18th December at 20:15 on SAT.1.

Cuckoo! Reporter Inka Pallaske (Anke Engelke) visits the Brömseklöten family who have been producing hand made cuckoo clocks in the Erzgebirge region for several generations. DJ Ötzi (Bastian Pastewka) will be appearing live from the ski slopes. There he will be testing the snow barrel, a brand new winter sport device, and will be trying out "kimming", a new kind of snow-fun sport where the human posterior becomes sports equipment.

Wolfgang and Anneliese will be exclusively presenting their nationwide charity campaign "Aua-am-Finger" and its celebrity endorsers. Amongst them will be Gregor Gysi (Anke Engelke) and Cindy from Marzahn (Bastian Pastewka). And then it will get cosy, warm and fun for children around the crackling "Fröhliche Weihnachten" fireplace where celebrities such as Jogi Löw (Anke Engelke) and Gunther Emmerlich (Bastian Pastewka) will be reading their personal variations on traditional Christmas stories.

Then "Moin, Moin!" will be the theme as Annika Klön-Schnack (Anke Engelke) presents local Christmas traditions from Northern Germany. In the beautiful Friesian town of "Oberoffeln", Mayor Veit Bröker (Bastian Pastewka) will tell her all about the obscure "Offelfest".

And Wolfgang and Anneliese will be playing host to: Whitney Houston (Anke Engelke) and Max Mutzke (himself).
