"Ladykracher" is the successfull sketch comedy show of Germany’s funniest woman: Anke Engelke. In off-the-wall skits, Anke Engelke and her team shed light on the everyday lives of urban women between mobile phone calls, declarations of love and children's birthday parties. In the fifth season, aired in winter 2009/2010, Anke Engelke steals the show as a car saleswoman with truly powerful arguments, a smart owner of a DVD store and a grouchy “city park nymph" who drives people away from her picnic blanket. The “Ladykracher” team makes sense of the pervasive financial crisis in its own unique way. In a brilliant sketch, the entire company sings a song about bankruptcy together. Anke Engelke is a true “lady cracker” in her role as “Ulla”. The naïve blonde is very sociable and enjoys learning new things from the people sitting next to her in cafes. For example, she absolutely has to ask a gay couple why they aren’t interested in women's breasts. She also wonders whether Asian people can read with their slanted eyes… ?

“Ladykracher” received the German Television Award (Deutscher Fernsehpreis) in 2002 as well as the German Comedy Award (Deutscher Comedypreis) in 2002, 2003 and 2009. The writers were recognized for their work with the “FRAPA Scripted Format Award” in 2005. Anke Engelke also received the Comedy Award (Deutscher Comedypreis) in 2002 and 2003 for her theatrical and comedic performances in "Ladykracher". She also won the “Eins Live Crown” ("Eins Live Krone") in 2003 and the Golden Rose at the "Rose d´Or” Television Festival in 2004. In 2009 and 2010 "Ladykracher" received the Comedy Award as "Best Sketch Show".
