Klaus-Jürgen Deuser
Klaus-Jürgen Deuser was born in Kaiserslautern in 1962 and grew up in Koblenz.
After beginning high-performance sport (light athletics 800 – 1500 m), he moved to Cologne in 1981 where he successfully completed his studies in business administration.
In 1983 he founded the comedy theatre group “Die Niegelungen”, with whom he notched up over 1,500 performances over the next 11 years. Between 1987 and 2001 there followed regular stays of several months in New York, acting lessons with Susan Batson, tap-dancing lessons with Henry LeTang and directing work with Phil Bach, and 1992 saw his debut as a director with “A Summer Night’s Dream” in Koblenz.
Klaus-Jürgen Deuser eventually became known through his “NightWash” comedy project, which he founded in 2000. Since 2001 the cult comedy programme has been running successfully on German television (WDR, ARD, Comedy Central) and has been presented and produced by KJ Deuser ever since.

2006/07 Klaus-Jürgen Deuser presented the improvisation format “Gott sei Dank, dass Sie da sind...” [“Thank God You’re Here …”] on ProSieben and since 2006 has been on tour in Germany with his solo programme “Deuser steht auf!!” [“Deuser Get Up!!”], and with “NightWash on Tour”.
In the meantime, he began working as a presenter for show and industry events.
In 1993, the entertainer was the winner of the RTL show “Showmaster” and, in 1995, won the first prize at the Koblenz children’s theatre festival.
After founding the music project “Sankt Pank” in 1996, Klaus-Jürgen Deuser took his first television and film roles (including “Schwurgericht”, “Schlank bis in den Tod”, “Ballermann”) and directed his first musical “Blood Brother”.
In 1999, he was a permanent cast member of the TV show “Zimmer Frei”.
In addition, Klaus-Jürgen Deuser and his company produced CD and radio projects including the “NightWash”-CD, the CD “Männer sind Schweine, Frauen aber auch” by Mario Barth, radio spots and the CD of “Ausbilder Schmidt” (2003 and 2005 best-selling comedy CD in Germany.)
Besides this, there were productions of the “first and second German Stand Up Festival” (Düsseldorf), and he produced and presented the TV-Show “Comedy-Rotation” (WDR 2005).
In 2003 and 2005 he was head coach on the TV-Show “Star Search” (Sat.1).
He worked as a comedy producer for the Rose D’or in Lucerne, Switzerland, where he was nominated for the pilot award of Rose D’or 2005 for the “Ausbilder Schmidt Show”.
In 2005/06 he conceived and presented the carnival castings show “Ab in die Bütt” (WDR).
