The coronation of the "Queen of Comedy": Anke Engelke receives "Eins Live Krone"
On Thursday, Eins Live presented the Eins Live Krone prize, the most coveted German radio award, at the grand gala held at the Arena in Oberhausen for the fourth time. With 29% of listeners’ votes, Anke Engelke – as Germany’s funniest woman – received the prized radio award in the "Best Comedy" category, which was presented by fellow comedienne Ruth Moschner. Ecstatic, Anke Engelke took the trophy, held the round crown to her chest and said: "Two of these, and I’ll be just like Ruth!"
A total of three BRAINPOOL artists were nominated for the "Eins Live Krone" this year. In the "Best Comedy" category, Anke Engelke was competing with Axel Stein and Mario Barth. Newcomer comedian Axel Stein (Axel! – Saturdays at 11:15 p.m. on Sat.1) came a close second to his successful colleague with 26.3 % of listeners’ votes. The new ProSieben comedian Mario Barth ("Keine Ahnung?"– Mondays at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben), came fifth.
The "Eins Live Krone" was presented by WDR Radio Eins Live for the fourth time on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the Arena in Oberhausen. Listeners were able to choose their favorites from a total of eight categories.
