Max goes to Istanbul!
Loud applause yesterday evening in Berlin: the winner of the "TV total" audition show "SSDSGPS", Max, will be representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul. With the song "Can’t Wait Until Tonight", produced by Stefan Raab, the 22-year-old confidently beat the remaining candidates, who included established music stars such as Scooter, Patrick Nuo, Sabrina Setlur, Wonderwall and Laith Al-Deen in the German final in Berlin.
A sensational success for Max Mutzke from Waldshut. During yesterday’s German Eurovision final in Berlin, the viewers decided that, this year, Germany would be represented by the 22-year-old in Istanbul. In the final round, more than 92% of viewers voted for Max and his song "Can’t Wait Until Tonight".
Only a few weeks ago, "TV total" viewers – within the context of the audition show "SSDSGPS" (Stefan-Sucht-Den-Super-Grand-Prix-Star – Stefan’s Quest for the Super Grand Prix Star) – voted for the amiable man from Waldshut. But this alone was not enough to take part in the German final in Berlin: within only 10 days, he had to make it into the Top 40 of the charts. No problem for the latest audition winner: with "Can’t Wait Until Tonight", Max went straight to Number One of the German single charts and was hence able to enter the German final as a wildcard! In Berlin, he once again convinced German television audiences that he has what it takes to represent Germany in Istanbul.
With "Can’t Wait Until Tonight", this is "TV total" presenter Stefan Raab’s third song to be performed during the Eurovision Song Contest.
