Prize-worthy television: BRAINPOOL productions once again in the running for German Television Award

No less than three BRAINPOOL TV GmbH productions have been nominated this year for the German Television Award. In the category "Best Entertainment Show/Best Entertainment Hosting", Stefan Raab’s "TV total" events "Die 1. offizielle Wok-WM" ("The First Official Wok World Championship") and the Grand Prix casting show "SSDSGPS – ein Lied für Istanbul" ("Stefan Searches for the Super Grand Prix Star – A Song for Istanbul"- ProSieben/BRAINPOOL/RaabTV) are both vying for a prize. And "rent a Pocher" with Oliver Pocher, also produced by BRAINPOOL for ProSieben (ProSieben/BRAINPOOL/PocherTV), is up for the title of "Best Comedy".

The two BRAINPOOL event shows with Stefan Raab are going up against "Genial daneben - Die Comedy Arena" ("Ingenious but Wrong –The Comedy Arena") with Hugo Egon Balder and "Der große Deutsch-Test" ("The Big German Test") with Hape Kerkeling in the entertainment category. Oliver Pocher’s "rent a Pocher" is competing for the title of "Best Comedy" against "Dittsche - Das wirklich wahre Leben" ("Dittsche – Real True Life") with Olli Dittrich and "Scheibenwischer" ("Windshield Wipers"), featuring Bruno Jonas and other comedians.

BRAINPOOL productions have already earned two German Television Awards in past years. The comedy show "TV total" was named "Best Entertainment Show" in 1999 and the comedy sketch program "Ladykracher" (Sat.1/BRAINPOOL/ LadykracherTV) won the coveted "Best Comedy" title in 2002.

The German Television Awards are now in their sixth year. The gala awards ceremony will take place on 9 October 2004 in the Cologne Coloneum statt and will be broadcast on 10 October on ZDF.
