Three BRAINPOOL productions are among the competitors vying for the international television prize the "Rose d’Or", which will be announced in Montreux (Switzerland) May 17, 2003. The comedy skit "Ladykracher" (Lady Cracker) with Anke Engelke on Sat.1 is in the running for the coveted award in the category "comedy" for the second time. The brand new BRAINPOOL comedy show entitled "Alt & Durchgeknallt" (Old & Crazy) on Sat.1 has also been nominated in this category. The sketch series "Axel!" on Sat.1 with Axel Stein has been recommended as best "sitcom".
The comedy productions from BRAINPOOL have already experienced success in Montreux in the past: Stefan Raab’s "TV total" was awarded the "Bronze Rose" in 2001 and "Mircomania" with Mirco Nontschew took out the "Silver Rose" the same year. "Ladykracher" (Lady Cracker), "Die Wochenshow" (Week in Review), "Die Ingo Appelt Show" (The Ingo Appelt Show), "Anke – Die Comedyserie" (Anke – The Comedy Series) and "Der Doc" (The Doc) have in part received even multiple nominations.
The "Golden Rose of Montreux" is on par with the most prestigious television prizes in the international entertainment industry, and is awarded by a jury of television critics and media experts. The award ceremony is a part of the 43rd international television festival "Rose d’Or" in Montreux, which takes places this year from May 13 – 18.
BRAINPOOL is producing a comedy documentation of the festival this year for the third time. Anke Engelke will report about the stars, shows and winners in Montreux. The programme will air on Pro Sieben in June.
