This morning, the entertainer and music producer Stefan Raab received awards in two categories: he was presented with an ECHO as the Most Successful Music Producer of the Year for the productions of Max Mutzke, the "TV total" talent show SSDSGPS ("Stefan sucht den Super Grand Prix Star" – Stefan seeks the Super Grand Prix Star) and the film music for "(T)Raumschiff Surprise". Furthermore, he received the coveted trophy for "Media Partner of the Year" for his "Bundesvision Songcontest" (Federal Vision Song Contest), in which artists from 16 Federal States competed against each other in a kind of German Grand Prix.
The awards were presented one day before the German Music Awards ECHO awards ceremony was held at Berlin’s Estrel Convention Center.
In addition to Stefan Raab, "Die Ärzte" received the "Best National/International Music DVD Production of the Year" award. The ECHO for the Most Successful Jazz Production went to the Canadian singer and pianist, Diana Krall. The German Phonographic Academy presented Pressezentrum Lübeck GmbH & Co. KG with the ECHO in the Trading Partner of the Year category.
The ECHO awards have been presented since 1992 and is one of the most important music prizes. With this, the German Phonographic Academy, the phonographic industry’s cultural institute, pays tribute to the year’s most outstanding and successful performances of German and international pop artists as well as national music business companies and managers.
Stefan Raab also received the Best Producer ECHO in both 1997 and 2000.
The ECHO awards were presented in 19 categories at the ECHO Gala on Saturday, April 2, held at the Berlin Estrel Convention Center.
