Treble Grimme Award nomination

Stefan Raab, Christoph Maria Herbst and "Stromberg" nominated for the Grimme Award
Treble success for BRAINPOOL: with its "SSDSGPS – Ein Lied für Istanbul" (SSDSGPS – A Song for Istanbul – ProSieben) production, Stefan Raab has now also been nominated for the 41st "Grimme Special Award". With this, he is now competing in this category directly with Christoph Maria Herbst, who has also been nominated with his show "Stromberg" in the "Fiction & Entertainment" category.

The Adolf Grimme Institut Jury decided to further nominate "SSDSGPS – Ein Lied für Istanbul", as Stefan Raab’s exceptional TV project has proven to be extremely dedicated in discovering and promoting musical talent in Germany.

In the "TV total" specials "SSDSGPS – Ein Lied für Istanbul", a first-class Jury – comprising Stefan Raab, Thomas Anders and Joy Flemming – selected from a group of promising new singers a candidate for the German finals of the Eurovision Song Contest. Max Mutzke was the happy winner of the "SSDSGPS" talent show and took part in the German Eurovision Song Contest finals in Berlin. With his song, "Can’t Wait Until Tonight", he secured in excess of 90% of all votes and came 8th at the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul. His single, which sold more than 300,000 copies, went platinum.

The Adolf Grimme Institut will announce all winners on March 8, 2005 in Düsseldorf, with the awards ceremony taking place in Marl on March 18.
