"The Grand ProSieben Federal Youth Games" - Oliver Pocher gets celebrities jumping

Is this a dream or a nightmare returning from our school days? No question, not all of us have fond memories of the Federal Youth Games. In the new ProSieben show, "The Grand ProSieben Federal Youth Games", Smudo, Kai Böcking, Bürger Lars Dietrich, Monica Ivancan, Julia Stinshoff, Jana Ina and others can now follow on from the successes of their youth. Oliver Pocher hosts the sports event on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 9:15 p.m. and supported by co-presenter Elton.

Running, jumping, throwing – for some, it was simply great sports fun while, for others, it was merely another dreadful day at school. We’re talking about the Federal Youth Games! Now ten more or less sporty celebrities are once again taking part in this school competition, under the omnipresent scrutiny of presenter Oliver Pocher: "Of course, the Federal Youth Games was always a dream come true for me! I loved any deviation from the routine of everyday school life! But not everybody is so affectionately reminiscent of it. Half of my class was always absent."
But sick notes and playing truant is out of the question now! The sports program for the women – including actresses Monica Ivancan ("Bachelorette") and Julia Stinshoff and TV star Jana Ina – comprises long jump and high jump, throwing and shot-put, the sprint and the 800-meter race. The men, including musician and comedian Bürger Lars Dietrich, presenter Kai Böcking and Smudo (Die Fantastischen Vier), are competing in the 1,000-meter race. Oliver Pocher’s former specialty discipline: "I was virtually unbeatable over 1,000 meters. After this discipline, I already had the Winner’s Certificate in my pocket." And which sport did he really not like? "Easy one: throwing! I’ve never quite understood the point of throwing a ball 50 meters. I was happy to have made it to the 20-meter mark."
Frank Busemann comments on the sporting achievements of the celebrities – as a former decathlete, he knows what is required. And, finally, our VIP Federal Youth Games contestants have a nerve-wracking wait: will they be awarded "merely" the Winner’s Certificate or will they receive the highly-coveted Merit Certificate? Just like back in the good old days at school…

"The Grand ProSieben Federal Youth Games" with Oliver Pocher and co-presenter Elton – on Saturday, September 16, 2006, live at 9:15 p.m. on ProSieben.
