Berlin, Berlin, Stefan Raab is going to Berlin! "Bundesvision Song Contest 2007" from Germany’s capital

Stefan Raab is hosting the third edition of his "Bundesvision Song Contest" at the Tempodrom in Berlin. The "Bundesvision Song Contest 2007", February 10, 2007 at 8:15 p.m. LIVE on ProSieben.

Following Oberhausen and Wetzlar, Stefan Raab’s "Bundesvision Song Contest 2007" (Federal Song Contest) is now about to conquer the capital, Berlin. Premiering two years ago and created by Stefan Raab, the song contest has meanwhile developed into a recognized major event within the German music industry. Each Federal state enters an act into the competition. 16 acts will face the audience and viewers. The winner will be decided by the TV viewers by means of telephone voting and text messaging. There will be an evaluation of which state citizens vote for which state as local patriotism is a key factor in the competition – giving your vote to the act from your own state can often decide who wins!

At the second "Bundesvision Song Contest" in early 2006, the viewers overwhelmingly voted for Berlin band Seeed with their Song "Ding". And because Stefan Raab’s Bundesvision Song Contest is always hosted by the home state of the previous year’s winner, the musical representatives of the16 states will be traveling to the capital, Berlin, where Seeed will be performing their hit "Wohnzimmer", although they are not taking part the competition. For four weeks from January 15, 2007 onwards, Stefan Raab will be presenting the acts and the states they are representing in "TV total" (10:15 p.m., ProSieben).

An overview of the "Bundesvision Song Contest 2007" entries:

Baden-Wurttemberg: Tele with "Mario". The six gentlemen from the Black Forest have been making themselves a name as a respected live act on the Indie scene since 2000.

Bavaria: ANAJO with "Wenn du nur wüsstest". The guys from the Augsburg hinterland with their catchy guitar pop have secured the services of the singer from "Klee" for their performance in the "Bundesvision Song Contest". They hope her vocal duet with Suzie Kerstgens will bring the prize to Bavaria.

Berlin: MIA with "Zirkus". The five Berliners around lead vocalist Mieze Katz have been a successful electro-punk combo for years and were also an entry in the 2004 heats for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Brandenburg: Beatplanet with "Dreh Dich um und geh". The seven-man band was formed in 2003 and focuses on big-beat music and pop.

Bremen: Lea Finn with "Ich weiß and du weißt": the 25-year-old singer from Bremen is already a regional celebrity with her pop songs, with perfect renditions in both English and German.

Hamburg: Jan Delay with "Feuer". With his funk album, the native of Hamburg had a smash hit this year, reaching No. 1 in the album charts. With his nasal HipHop sound, he, and his band "Absolute Beginner", are already well-known.

Hesse: D-Flame with "Mom Song": the most striking feature of the 35-year-old rapper is his extremely deep voice. In the HipHop scene, he has worked with many established artists. His goal: to ensure the "Bundesvision Song Contest 2008" takes place in Hesse again, as it did last year.

Mecklenburg-West Pomerania: Melotron with "Das Herz". The three Neubrandenburg natives regard themselves as the prophets of German-language electro-pop.

Lower Saxony: OOMPH! feat. Marta Jandová with "Träumst Du?". An explosive blend of gothic and rock: for Marta, otherwise a member of "Die Happy", this is the second entry in the "Bundesvision Song Contest".

North Rhine-Westphalia: Pohlmann with "Mädchen and Rabauken". Although 34-year-old Ingo Pohlmann is still something of a star in waiting, his debut single "Wenn jetzt Sommer wär" was an absolute summer hit this year. Among others, his music is produced by H-Blockx singer, Henning.

Rhineland-Palatinate: Kalle feat. M.A.R.S. Allstars with "Aber Nice". The seven-member music combo plans to win the competition with its catchy reggae rhythms. Providing backup vocals is Thomas D. from "Die Fantastischen Vier".

Saarland: B-Stinged Butterfly with "Liebe". The heavy metal band – comprising two Saarland natives and two Frenchmen – turns up the power for the smallest Federal state.

Saxony: Manja with "Es ist die Liebe". To date, 26-year-old Manja has been an active DJ in Leipzig and surroundings. With "Es ist die Liebe", she will be giving her vocal debut with a reggae style performance.

Saxony-Anhalt: Jenna+Ron with "Jung und willig". Siblings Jenna (21) and Ron (24) are newcomers to the music business and look destined for a glittering career with their poppy and provocative lyrics.

Schleswig-Holstein: Kim Frank with "Lara": the 24-year-old singer and actor once again returns to the music business, things having become quiet around him since "Echt". Now, he will be representing his Federal state at the "Bundesvision Song Contest 2007", performing his solo debut.

Thuringia: Northern Lite feat. Chapeau Claque with "Enemy". The trio from Erfurt has secured itself back-up with singer Maria from "Chapeau Claque". For the first time, they will be presenting their neo-pop style with German lyrics.

The "Bundesvision Song Contest 2007" is a Raab TV production in collaboration with BRAINPOOL and on behalf of ProSieben.
