And the winner is: PASTEWKA!
Cologne. On Friday evening at the Cologne Coloneum, the BRAINPOOL show “Pastewka” (Sat.1) received the German Television Award in the “Best Sitcom” category. In the smash series, the main protagonist Bastian Pastewka allows viewers a hilarious insight into his life – every Friday at 9:15 p.m. on Sat.1. The German Television Award Jury concluded: “Bridging the threshold between comedy and sitcom, Bastian Pastewka establishes – despite, because of or with a US concept – something that many regarded as an impossibility: German humor.”
This year, the German Television Award Jury had a total of three BRAINPOOL productions to scrutinize: Pastewka (Sat.1) and Stromberg (ProSieben), both nominated in the Sitcom category and, as the “Best Comedy”, “Mario Barth Live! Männer sind Schweine – Frauen aber auch” (Mario Barth Live! Men are Pigs – But so are Women, RTL). The award ultimately went to “Pastewka” in the Sitcom category, hence pipping colleague “Stromberg”, aka Christoph Maria Herbst and “Alle lieben Jimmy” (Everybody Loves Jimmy, RTL) at the post. Mario Barth conceded the award for “Best Comedy” to Kurt Krömer (Bei Krömers – At the Krömers, RBB), which also left competitor Urban Priol (alles muss raus – everything must go, 3sat) empty-handed.
