Stefan Raab's champion league: Boris Becker, Stefan Effenberg, Wigald Boning and Stefan Kretzschmar are appearing on "Schlag den Star" (Beat the Star)
Four shows, four true champions: In addition to Stefan Effenberg, Boris Becker, Stefan Kretzschmar and Wigald Boning, two champion league winners, an Olympics and Wimbledon champion and a marathon runner, are also appearing to compete in one-on-one multi-discipline events against a challenger in Stefan Raab's new show "Schlag den Star". Former soccer star Stefan Effenberg will kick-off the event on 13 March 2009 at 8:15 pm on ProSieben.
As many as nine games of varying disciplines will see participants emerge victorious or vanquished. An audience member will face-off with a star in each of the four broadcasts. The person who defeats Stefan Effenberg in the two-hour duel on 13 March 2009 will walk away with 50,000 euro. If "Effe" maintains the upper hand, the new candidate will go against Boris Becker for 100,000 euro the following Friday. By 27 March the pot can rise to 150,000 euro in the match against champion league handball victor Stefan Kretzschmar and, in the last installment on 3 April, 200,000 euro is up for grabs for the contestant facing off with "Mr. Clever" and marathon runner Wigald Boning.
"Schlag den Star" will begin when the anniversary week of "TV total" concludes on ProSieben. Stefan Raab will be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of this show with highlights from a decade of "TV total" from 9 to 12 March 2009 (Monday to Thursday at 11:15 pm / anniversary DVD will be in stores starting 13 March 2009). ProSieben broadcasted the first episode of the show on 8 March 1999, also Stefan Raab's first appearance on the Munich network.
