Banijay Germany Acquires 100% of Brainpool

Banijay Group today confirms Cologne-based TV production company Brainpool will now come completely under the umbrella of Banijay Germany. The negotiations for the takeover have successfully concluded with the signatures of Jörg Grabosch, Ralf Günther and Andreas Scheuermann, who were previously represented as minority shareholders in the company.

Cascada to represent Germany at the ESC – 3.24 million viewers watched the German ESC heats on das Erste

February 15, 2013 | The band Cascada is the winner of the "Eurovision Song Contest 2013 – Our Song for Malmö" show and will represent Germany on May 18 in Sweden. Authors of the dance-pop song "Glorious", with which Cascada lead singer Nathalie Horler hit the stage in Hanover, are Yann Peifer, Manuel Reuter, Andres Ballinas and Tony Cornelissen. A total of 12 acts competed for the ticket to Malmö.

Anke Engelke to host 'Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - Unser Song für Malmö'

On Thursday, 14 February, Anke Engelke will host the show, 'Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - Unser Song für Malmö'. Beginning at 8:15 p.m., Das Erste will broadcast the two-hour German ESC preliminary round live from the TUI Arena in Hanover, Germany. The entertainer is a confessed fan of the song contest; she joined Stefan Raab and Judith Rakers in 2011 to host the Eurovision Song Contest in Germany.
