The "Golden Rose" goes to Anke Engelke

BRAINPOOL Star Anke Engelke receives international television award

Anke Engelke was awarded the "Golden Rose" in the category of "Best Female Comedy Performer" at the 44th International "Rose d’Or" Television Festival in Lucerne this past Saturday. She received the award for the Brainpool-produced Sat.1 format "Ladykracher".

Christoph Maria Herbst accepted the prize on behalf of Anke Engelke. Ms. Engelke, who is currently filming a production in Greece, was unable to attend the awards ceremony; she expressed her thanks for the award via fax.

A total of twenty Golden Roses were awarded in eight different categories. This year, for the first time, prizes were presented to individual performers in the categories of Sitcom, Comedy, Soap Opera and Game Show.

The "Golden Rose", which is awarded by a jury from within the industry, is one of the most prestigious international television awards in the entertainment branch. The awards ceremony – which up to now has had its home in Montreux – was held this year for the first time in Lucerne from April 13-18.
