Silly buck teeth and thick glasses? Not here. The joke is the star – the "Sketch Show", every monday at 9:45 p.m. on ProSieben Television. Michael Müller, Heike Siekmann, Robert Louis Griesbach, Vera Teltz and Carsten Höfer get by without any of the usual comedy crutches. These five professional entertainers captivate their audience with their fine-tuned comic acting and excellent timing. Without compromising or glamorizing anything, the performers on the "Sketch Show" demonstrate the completely normal insanity of everyday life in Germany, from the subway to the marriage bed to the waiting room.

Beginning November 4, 2002, the "Sketch Show" ensemble will deliver 13 installments of an "overflowing package of entertainment". With consistent irreverence, they do not shy aware from polarizing their audience or rubbing viewers the wrong way. Sketch comedy is not unfamiliar territory for any of the members of this experienced team. All five performers have been at home on German cabaret and theatre stages as well as on German television for some time.

Michael Müller, 44, is a founding member of the Bonn theatre troupe "Springmaus", and was an essential element in the ProSieben show "Switch". In addition, he has worked together with Mirco Nontschew, Dirk Bach and "Ladykracher" ("Lady firecracker") Anke Engelke.

Robert Louis Griesbach, 41, has appears regularly at the Berliner Wühlmäuse theatre with his one-man cabaret performances, as well as staging grotesque readings and absurd evenings of song. He was a member of the permanent ensemble in the consumer advocacy comdey "Wie Bitte?!" ("What did you say?!") on RTL Television.

33-year-old Carsten Höfer has appeared in the prizewinning series "Mircomania" on Sat.1 Television, on "RTL Samstag-Spät-Nacht" ("RTL Saturday Late-night") and "Sonst Gerne" ("I’d be Happy To, Otherwise" on ZDF TV, among others. In addition, he develops his own radio comedies and performs in a 90-minute live solo program.

29-year-old Heike Siekmann, who now makes her home in England, appeared on "Freitag Nacht News" ("Friday Night News") and "Samstag Nacht" ("Saturday Night") on RTL Television after completing her acting training in Munich. Most recently, she has written and performed material for "Join the Club" on Sun TV.

In addition to performing on stage in Stuttgart and Rostock, Vera Teltz, 31, gathered television experience on ARD’s "Tatort" ("Scene of the Crime" and the RTL series "Die Wache" ("The Precinct"). She has also acted with a number of independent theatre companies as well as performing as a singer.

The "Sketch Show" is an adaptation of the British comedy format of the same name.

The original format has been on the air since 2001 on the Independent Television station (ITV), and was nominated for the "Rose d’Or" in 2002, among other awards. "The Sketch Show" won the "BAFTA" (British Television Prize) for Best Comedy in 2002.

The "Sketch Show" was broadcast from January 2003 until March 2003 on Mondays on ProSieben.
