Unser Song für Deutschland [Our Song for Germany]

Lena won the hearts of Europe with the song "Satellite" at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 - the world's biggest music contest will now be hosted in Germany for the first time in 28 years. Lena will appear to defend her title at the European Song Contest in Düsseldorf in 2011. In three live "Our Song for Germany" shows on Das Erste and ProSieben, members of the public will decide which song Lena will perform. ProSieben will broadcast the two semi-final shows on Monday, January 31 and Monday, February 7 at 8.15 p.m. Das Erste will broadcast the live final on Friday, February 18 at 8.15 p.m.

Lena will perform six songs in each of the two semi-final "Our Song for Germany" shows. Stefan Raab will judge the songs in his role as President of the jury made up of representatives from the music and entertainment world. Sabine Heinrich and Matthias Opdenhövel will present the shows. Viewers can then vote for three songs from each of the semi-final shows on ProSieben by telephone and SMS. The winning six songs will then be performed again in the final on Das Erste. The TV audience will then decide which song Lena will sing live on stage on Saturday, May 14 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf. The grand final of the ESC will also be shown live on Das Erste.

With "Our Song for Germany", Stefan Raab, Das Erste, ProSieben and the ARD pop and youth radio stations are continuing their successful partnership. A cooperation that is well received by the public: Das Erste attracted an average of 14.69 million viewers with the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. That was the first time for 30 years that so many people in Germany got so excited about the contest.

Andreas Bartl, ProSiebenSat.1 TV Chairman: "Never Change a Winning Team! We ventured into this partnership together a good year ago and we now want to write a new chapter in this fantastic success story. I am convinced: Stefan Raab and Lena are going to make it very tough for the other competitors."

Thilo Proff, ProSieben CEO: "Stefan Raab, Das Erste and ProSieben join forces: the best people are looking for the best song for a very special artiste who gave us a true Spring fairytale last year."

Volker Herres, Programming Director, Erstes Deutsches Fernsehen: "The viewers already did everything exactly right this year when they voted for Lena's Song for Oslo to be the winning song. If our audience demonstrates such good taste next year as well, success on home turf is certainly possible."

Thomas Schreiber, ARD Entertainment Coordinator and Team Leader for the Eurovision Song Contest: "Lena's successful defense of the title in Düsseldorf is part two of the nation's task, backed up by an established and victorious team. With the support of well-known composers and renowned members of the jury, the viewers will surely vote for the right song for Germany. That was the case with 'Satellite' in "Our Star for Oslo", and it will be the same with "Our Song for Germany"".
